Hello ORSH Families!
School is just around and the corner and we are getting excited. Please take the time to read this carefully as it contains important reminders and announcements, some that need immediate responses.
Students will not be permitted into the building on Monday August 24th unless all 20-21 enrollment paperwork has been received/completed
by Friday August 21st. Please come by the school if you need a packet.
If your student has tested positive for COVID-19 or has been exposed to someone who has, it must be reported to the school immediately.
Failure to report this status within 24 hours is considered negligent and will result in the student’s removal from The One Room School House.
Parents will not be permitted in the building. There will be staff members available to assist students getting to their classes after their temperature has been taken.
During morning drop off please remain with your student until they have been cleared to enter the building. Little school parents – there will be designated areas on the sidewalk for you to wait at until a staff member is available to take their temperature. Big school parents – please pull all the way down to the end of the drop off circle leaving no gaps as cars leave. A staff member will come to the car to take your child’s temperature. If you park and walk up, there will be designated areas on the sidewalk for you to wait at until a staff member is available to take their temperature.
All student must have a mask on to enter the building.
The school is providing a shield to all students that will remain in their classrooms. If you would like to purchase a shield for them to wear to P.E. or after school they are available for $2.
All of these new procedures take time and we will do our best to make it as quick and efficient as possible. Please be respectful and understanding as there are going to be some hiccups.
First Week School Lunch: There is no school lunch for the first week of school because we are starting early. A kind sponsor has decided to provide pizza and fruit lunches for all the students who need them. Please indicate whether you want a sponsored lunch or your student will bring their own from home for the first week of school. If we don’t hear from you, we will assume you are bringing one from home.
Afternoon dismissal at 2:30 will be from the building. Little school parents – you will need to park your car in a parking spot and notify that staff members on the porch of your student’s name. They will then radio for the student to exit the building. Big school parents – please pull all the way down to the end of the drop off circle leaving no gaps as cars leave and notify the staff members of your student’s name. They will then radio for the student to exit the building.
Students are to be logged in by 8:00am each morning and dressed appropriately. If you choose not to wear a One Room School House uniform shirt you must be in a t-shirt that appropriately covers the body (no tank tops/low cuts/off the shoulder) and should have no writing or images.
